N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thank you so much. I can't wait to get the call. My phone will be glued to my side so I don't miss it

I believe that BattleStations will start tonight for some of the divisions in this group.  If so, I'm a Sailor calls can start as early as 2 pm Central tomorrow!

cocoa:  We did exactly what CatMom did....rented a car but took the shuttle to/from PIR.  Would do it that way again if I was going to PIR again!  :-)

Welcome cocoa638!

I personally opted for Sarge's shuttle since I didn't want to deal with other drivers or possibly forgetting a time-saving shortcut.  He picked me up at 6:30 am, dropped us off right at a gate, walked 50 yards to the graduation hall entrance, then got the last 2 seats up against the wall (to lean against) in the lower bleachers a little after 7:00 am.  We got a shuttle back to our hotel in the parking lot to the right of the NEX.  Looks foa a Sarge one.  $3.00 per person each way.

The Lodge is about a mile from Recruit Training Command (RTC) and off a busy road with no sidewalks, so not possible to walk to RTC.

The "I'm a Sailor" call happens within the last 2 weeks of Boot Camp~~

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and I have sooooo many questions. My daughter graduates PIR on 5/1/2015. I will be staying at the Navy Lodge. Any advice on it it is better to take a shuttle or drive to the graduation ceremony? How far is the Lodge from the ceremony field? Does anyone have an idea of when the I'm a Sailor call will come?
