~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I know everyone is suggesting to go to the meet and greet however, we will be unable to attend this. Can someone give us some PIR pointers who are not able to attend the get together the night before.

Thank you CatMom509.  I will be there.

Missed alot on here today.  Sounds like everyone has their plans made solid.  We do as well or at least I thought we did until the 16 year old decided to try to negotiate a plane trip back home immediately after PIR to go to prom with his girlfriend . . . for the millionth time.  What a mentally exhausting day.   We will see everyone at Sarge's.  Just look for the pouting 16 year old.

Hi Ladies,

Please check out my "Pertinent PIR Tips" up above in the Discussions section.  I have alot of stuff from when I attended my Sailor daughter's PIR last month~~ :)

Irene,

I can definitely recommend Sarge's Meet & Greet for you.  He has a ton of information and a nice selection of eats!  He definitely looks out for us Navy parents.  Keep in mind that it is a bit dark inside the Sundance Saloon.  I programmed his cell phone into mine and he was very responsive when I needed him quick to bring our Sailor daughter back to RTC on Friday evening so we could rest before our long-but-priceless-day-at-the-airport!  He was at our hotel in 15 minutes!!  His cell number is 847-212-0246.  You can check out my "Pertinent PIR Tips" up above where I talk about his Meet & Greet and his taxi (minivan) service!  He and his crew are just the best!!

There are seven of us flying up from South Florida.  We are staying at the Ramada and not sure which meet n greet to go to.  My daughter is staying up there for A school so we will get the whole weekend with her.  Hoping the weather up there will be a little warmer in two weeks.

Hello All,

     "...Preserve sound judgment and discernment,

         do not let them out of your sight;

         they will be life for you,

         an ornament to grace your neck.

         Then you will go on your way in safety,

         and your foot will not stumble,

         when you lie down, you will not be afraid;

         when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet."

                                         Proverbs 3: 21-24
