~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Something everyone needs to be aware of. You will need current photo ID not only to get into PIR but also if you plan to fly. Check your ID and make sure it isn't about to expire. There was a mom for this past weeks PIR who didn't know her license had expired and she got to the airport and could not fly with her ID. She had to leave the airport and go to DMV, renew her license and take the paper copy along with her old ID back to the airport and it cost her quite a bit of money to change her flights to later that day. It was a huge mess so don't take that chance.
Good Morning All!
thanks everyone for all your input! Gives us newbies a little relief. My son will be going to Pensacola, Fl. after bootcamp for AMA. Anyone else have a recruit going to FL?
Moms,
You are in the period of Boot Camp training where you won't be receiving phone calls for a few weeks as the divisions are working intensely on testing and winning reward flags for barracks inspections, academic testing, marching, etc... Your SR may have mentioned the no calls for a few weeks on their last phone call to you. When their divisions are closer to Battlestations, they "may" be rewarded with calls to loved ones in the week before PIR, but no guarantees. You final call will be the "I'm a Sailor" one. I STILL kept my phone with me at all times "just in case". In the meantime, you can look forward to your weekly letters from your SRs~~
You're welcome, MikesMom!
For all of those who have friend requested me for BattleStations dates, I have replied to all of you. If you hit ACCEPT and then wondered why there was no info, please email me requesting the info again. The friend request itself had the info in it you asked for, but would have disappeared when you hit ACCEPT. Sorry to have such a complicated way to communicate the dates! I used to post a schedule on here, but RTC asked us to stop that a couple of years ago (want you all to practice OPSEC which means no "ship" dates on the public sites). Then, I started sending out a "message to group" which is allowed, but found that most were not receiving it (I have a feeling it was being kicked into their spam files...or they may have had settings to not receive emails like that).
So, this is the best I can do! Sorry it is so confusing!
I agree MarykrayKray, that is a funny picture to imagine. I see someone with curlers in her hair and a house coat and slippers lol running down the road with a newspaper in her hand chasing the mailman hahaha, too funny.
Sorry I have been MIA, I am sure you all will understand when I say small business owner and Tax time :( I hate tax time!!! The good news is I have to be finished by Monday so I will be available more starting Tuesday :)
