~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Oh, and I agree with Vikiboo and MissG about the cell phones.. Wearing a sports bra adds a cup size for me, so imagine what the cell phone would do..lol. By the way MamaKrayKray, be aware of putting those sani seat sheets on the toilet, one of my co-workers dropped her phone (that was in her bra) in the toilet while doing that!
Thank you all for the good natured humor. I was feeling a little down the past few days, as it was my oldest daughter's birthday yesterday and she lives in Alaska. So I was missing her as well as my SR. I'm feeling much better now!
Ah, the weather in the South. Ga is expecting 80 deg weather today, with another layer of that chalk like pine pollen to cover everything! My car was blue, but now it's pine pollen yellow...lol
missG - best advice plan on light layers that you can peel off if needed. Even if the temperatures are in the 70's or 80's while we are there, the wind coming off the lake will make it feel much colder especially if you are standing in a shaded area when the wind decides to blow.
Yes the phone in the bra was a little weird at first. But considering I experienced having my phone fall out of my hoodie pocket into the toilet has left me with no other options! That happened after I got the "I'm here" call and before their first weekend call. So fortunately I didn't miss anything while getting a new phone up & running. So apparently I can't be trusted with pockets & I would never be able to hear my phone in my purse.
Hey MissG, I know what you mean about the cell phone. My problem is that phone would just slip on through! Thats probably TMI, but hey..we're all just family, right? Temp here in Northwest Arkansas,...home of Wal-mart is 65, but we are having to batten down the hatches as we have an elevated risk of some tornadoes...bummer...Such is the joy of Spring in the South!
Did you miss me? Did you know I was missing, put out an APB? lol So sorry I haven't been here. My internet company rebooted their system and cause 1000's of customers to lose internet. I was one of the "lucky" ones. I don't think they realize how important it is that I get my N4M daily fix lol. But now I am back :)
Bbrrrr.....But since our kids are now in the Navy..I guess they should get used to a little cold water!
I have got a question on they types of tests that they take. Is it like a standard school type setting, with scan-tron, multiple choice, or CBT, or good ol' fill in the blanks? Also, how long does a typical test take? I was just curious, if anyone knows the answer.
Good morning! Weather wise, always count on the Lake Effect for the conditions. We have had 70's here the last few days in Ohio but we have also been known to have a foot of snow as late as April. It all depends what the Lake is doing & how the weather comes across it. The standard joke is that the midwest starts out with parkas in the morning, shorts by afternoon & hoodies for the evening.
Good Morning All!
No kidding proudmomma!! Im just 4 hours south of GL and there is about a 15-20 degree difference!! I really hope it warms up for PIR weekend!
