N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

So happy i've got everything figured out. Going shopping tomorrow for new clothes for the trip and my grad outfit to knock my sailor off his feet! I never dress up so he'll be surprised. So excited!!!

Daisyduke, have him go directly to the DAV in your area as soon as he gets home and has his dd214 in hand. Have his dd214 registered at the clerk's office, that way if anything ever happens to the original he can get a certified copy from the clerks office. But the DAV is going to be the best help he can have. If he is being medically separated he will most likely not only get veteran status, which will give him bene8with the VA, but he will most likely have disabled veteran status, which means more benefits including education and job assistance. They were a wealth of help when my husband's contract expired and he had injuries that were service connected. Then the VA helped him get his job at the railroad. The DAV has been a huge blessing to us, and others that we have told our story to. It's not something that is openly known.
We wish him, and your family, the best of luck in the future. And remind him that God has plans for him, and this wasn't it, it was just a stepping stone and what comes next will be far better. Thank him for his willingness to serve, and your's as well, as we all know when a loved one serves the family does too. Much love and prayers sent your way.

Daisyduke, someone once told me when my life took a turn I wasn't expecting, "that may be the best decision you never made", and it was. God does have a plan for him and as much as he may have wanted this, he is needed somewhere else where he'll make a difference. As diannep said, please thank him for his willingness to serve! Love to you all.

Daisyduke: just wanted to send a big cyber hug. I'm so sorry this path is not the one your son will be on. That has to be a very difficult phone call. I pray your son will find his plan soon! Lots of love and prayers coming your way.

Daisyduke:  So very sorry.....I know how disappointed he must be.  Prayers that his homecoming won't take too long.  Please thank him for his willingness to serve!  Blessings to him in his future. Yes,there is a reason for everything, and the Lord has a different plan for him!

That is correct. The Divisions are paired odds/even.

I will get your Division Discussions up later tonight.

Comment by Laurenw on March 25, 2015 at 9:20pm

Linda Kay, from what I have read on this site the divisions are paired odd and even, so it should be 169 and 170, 171 and 172, 173 and 174, and so on.

Hello all! My SR left on 3/16. I spoke with him today and he told me he was Div 175 Ship 3...Anyone else have a recruit there as well? If so, when did he/ship out?
