For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I cant believe in one week I will be heading to see my SR graduate and to be honest I dont think I could have made it this easy without yalls support and how much care everyone has in here and we havent even met yet! Thank you everyone for such the kind and heartfelt words it has helped me make this journey with ease :)!

Here's the link to contact MWR (Morale, Welfare, & Recreation) to get an idea of the graduation care package contents. I would say it is not necessary for you to get one as you may have already gotten your soon to be Sailor a Challenge Coin at www.pirgifts.com or something else you have chosen yourselves~~

...the procedure if they don't pass their final PFA before their BattleStations day is to call like proudmomma's SR did. It is a scripted call and they must say that they won't graduate.....but he will get to try again on Fri, and if need be, Mon and even Wed of PIR week. If he doesn't pass by Wed of PIR week, then he will stay in FIT DIVISION and keep trying...once they miss their PIR date, they have no PIR, but can still become sailors. When they finally pass, they do BattleStations and head straight to A School.

proudmomma: He still has chances to pass his final PFA before the 9th, so don't give up yet! He should have at least 2 or 3 more chances. So don't cancel your plans yet! But don't go to GL unless you get another call from him that he passed. Prayers!
