~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi Njunnelle,

Just a gentle reminder that all the guys and gals training at Boot Camp are known as SR (Seaman Recruit) until they have completed Battlestations.  Then they will officially become Sailors~~

Also, you're so sweet to go over to your SR's family's house to share the call with them!!

HI all.  Got first real letter from daughter (ship 14, 165) today. She said that it wasn't really that bad and she likes her shipmates... There were a few sarcastic remarks in there so I know she must be in good spirits.  She also said that she really appreciates any mail she gets.  Hoping to get a phone call soon, but good to hear from her.. I think its the first letter she ever wrote us!

Vsmom:  BattleStations for this PIR group will run probably from Thurs night, 05/01, through Tues night of PIR week.  Although with only 7 divisions going through, they may do them all during PIR week....there are none on Fri or Sat nights though.  Lately not even Sunday night.

Can't post dates for them on here....but if anyone gets one from his/her SR, please post that you have it for Div ___ and let other private message you for it.  I will be keeping a schedule so would like it sent to me too.  Thanks!

ALSO DIV 167 .. My sailor said the days mesh together and its harder to keep track so him and some of the other SRs made a lousy calendar to cross off each day so they know where they are in training and how long to see loved ones. Thought it would be nice to share :)

Thanks Diannep that cleared up a lot for me. My sailors Dad is a Navy veteran and his mom called so idk but thats where apparently we're supposed to stay. On top of the letter today, I received a phone call today as well! Rushed over to His family's house. I made it in plenty of time and i put it on speaker, everyone gathered in the living room and he heard everyone. He was so happy and it was the first time he got to speak to his mom. He got his wisdom teeth out last week and isn't sick anymore. Says he feels his body weakening from the workouts he used to do and feels sick in the morning just trying to get up. He got assigned to do logs and told me ITS HORRIBLE because his penmenship has to be perfect. still doesn't like the food too much. Said that his DIV (167) won a scholar flag!! YAYYYYY! Their first inspection was bad but not used against him. He did well on his first test and is passing PT and swimming pretty well. Said they learned some marching and are learning about guns now and during training, he dropped his barrel and MAN did his RDC get onto him for that, but he was fine. He said he's made friends (no names specific) and is just looking forward to graduation  because he misses us so. told me he sleeps with my letters close to him. BUT One of the mothers mentioned his name on here from her sons point of view :) I will Message you. Glad to know our sailors are working together and getting through this! Today has been a very good day. Almost as if he was here again from all this good news! :)
