Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thankful that your Sailor daughter and adorable grandbaby were not seriously hurt!! Hoping that the car insurance will work quickly to take care of your daughter and get her car repaired or replaced. May our God's hand give you and your daughter peace~~

Lala, so sad to hear of the accident and so good to know there were no serious injuries. My family will hold you in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for the beautiful ribbons I received yesterday.

Me too, Lala! So glad it wasn't worse and so happy that the baby is ok. I know you want to be there to give them hugs and support. It is hard to let our kids handle adult things, especially when they are hurt and her hubby is in CA. But it is a learning experience and hopefully she has many friends there to help her.

We can use your thoughts and prayers. My sailor was supposed to come home yesterday and be here for about 3 weeks and then go to CA. Her orders got messed up and she couldn't check out. Then today she and the baby were in a car wreck and she is pretty sure her car is totaled. Thank God she and the baby are okay. The baby didn't get a scratch. But L has a burn from the seat belt, bruises and bad head ache from the airbag hitting her in the chest and face, and whiplash. They did release her from the hospital :) I hated not being there. It is so hard when something like this happens. Especially when they are not at home. But thank God they were not hurt bad. Thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. We will know more in a few days. Not sure what will happen since the car is there and she is supposed to be here and then go to CA.
