Duane K Scarlett's Dad - I'm the same way!  I'm carrying my son's picture everywhere!  Can't help it - I'm so proud!  Awesome PIR experience - full of emotion and pride.

Congratulations fellow shipmates!  My Daughter directed the Recruit band... I'm very proud of her decision!  Now i've been a Navy geek since PIR, wearing the gear, singing/whistling anchors away at work, showing everyone her picture... guess it goes with the territory...

I know what you mean jdmom, It certainly brought tears to my eyes just
watching them march in. The Drill (?)team were Awesome too.
So where do we go from here? I'll have to look for a GL A School group.
You've all been great.
Praying for all our Sailors., and their familys.

Just got my Blue Star Flag in time for Armed Forces Week.  Parade on Saturday.

Can you believe PIR has come and gone?  Looking at the countdown clock it seems like just yesterday we were all getting to know each other.  I hope the new moms in Deppers and BC goups hang in there.

Take care.

I have to say felt so proud of every Sailor in that ceremony, it was an incredible sight when they filled the hall.  I am very happy to be able to share this journey with all of you.  Please keep in touch as we move "into the fleet"

PIR was great!
Thanks ladies for all the helpful information. We didn't get our Seaman's pictures
picked up on Fri. so we are hoping she can get them shipped this week.
I thought we could pick them up on Sun. but couldn't get back into that side of the base. We should have asked if we could pick them up without her being present. We had plenty of wait time.
We are so Proud of her. Boot Camp was rough, but she made it.

I'm finally feeling "back to normal" after a very emotionally charged weekend.  It was awesome to be at the Graduation Ceremony, especially when those doors opened up and all you saw was marching feet!

Like many of you, our time with our Sailor was quite short - a bit disappointing, but the time we did have was great.  I've never seen him EAT SO MUCH!!  First thing on the list was something FRIED AND GREASY!  Arby's here we come - curly fries and mozzarella sticks, then a big juicy Ribeye, loaded potatoes, cinnamon apples and cheese cake (double portion - thanks to our waitress!) and real Dr. Pepper.  I don't know where he put it all!

We did meet him at the airport at 3 a.m. - early morning but worth it.  Thankfully we were back home by 10 a.m. - we had a 4 hour drive home from there.  At least I know my Sailor is safe and sound at A School.  Making plans to get his car to him sometime in June.

I'd love to stay in touch with many of you ladies.  If you're willing, personal message me with your email addresses and stuff and we can keep tabs on our Sailors.
