OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello All! Judithmac, my daughter sent me her last letter and she asked me to tell you that your son is the BEST MARCHER in the div and is NEVER out of step! Also, great news! She received her orders for pact to Coronado Naval Amphibious Base! I've already connected with another Midwest Mom on the PACT Mom's page whose daughter is attached to the same unit and doing wonderfully well! It sounds like they are having a blast barbecuing on the beach and shopping! Husband says, "that's where we're going for Christmas!"

DephtCharged4,

The last one could be any and all of those that you listed.  If any part of the PFA is failed, they usually have multiple chances to pass before their PIR, so don't cancel any hotel or flight plans.  They can go through Battlestations with a PIR group behind them and still make their own PIR.  Those who complete it the night before may be sitting up in the bleachers on either the far right or left side as many are just too exhausted to march and stand during PIR for 1 1/2-2 hours.

Good Morning! ahem, afternoon! can I ask which kind of inspection is their last inspection? Is it a personal one of their uniform, rack space, etc or divisional? Also, if your SR fails their PFT, will there be time before BS21 to retake it? I'm assuming they have to go through BS21 with their own division?
