DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello All!

do not be dismayed, for I am Your God.

sheara:  I bet he is doing much better now since you talked to him....their emotions are up and down during Bootcamp!  It is still a little early for personal letters.  It is possible that your SRs got their first "held" mail last Sunday and mailed letters on Monday, though.  Every division is different but they should be about the same time as far as mailing out their first letters.  Hoping that there are personal letters on their way to you right now!    Remember, they can only mail out to you on Mondays, so you will soon have you "expected mail" day from your SR!  They will receive mail M-F after this initial mail delivery.

Good Mornin, Diannep and all...sure was hoping to have received a personal letter from my son, guess there isn't much time to write, but not knowing is tough...I know no news is good news, but he sounded upset when I talked to him the first time.... :(

cubedsap,

Here's info diannep posted a couple of pages back on how you can contact Lala for her PIR ribbons.  They are to show pride at the Meet & Greet and PIR~~

"Lala Ribbon Queen, one of our N4Moms veterans, makes beautiful PIR ribbons.  Find her under the MEMBERS tab up top.....go to her page on here, and look at her ribbons.  You can friend request her from there.  She also has her separate website listed there if you prefer to contact her that way."

Ther Meet & Greet is hosted by Sarge.  He provides alot of information about the PIR, shortcuts, things to do and places to eat in Chicago.  Free food is provided.  Fun activities.  At the Sundance Saloon in Waukegan which is kid and family friendly as it is closed to the public for this Navy family event.  It is held the night before PIR from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  You can also sign up for his taxi shuttle (minivans) service to be picked up from your hotel to go to PIR ($3.00 per person each way.)
