OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thanks, Teri!  I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

MassMom!  I loved your letter also!  So sweet that he got Marksman!  Love the origami gift!  I'm glad he picked the smiling pose also, my SR last year didn't and while I love to see him in his dress blues, I would have loved to have seen that smile of his. As you can see in my profile pic, this SR has a winning smile and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he picked the smile pose also. He did say he got his indiv. and division pics done so here's to a big order! :)

Today is Thursday - that is when his letters usually come!  Thanks to each and everyone of you for sharing all you are sharing.  I can't wait to meet everyone.

I can't wait to see his letters after work.  It will be probably one of the best mother's day presents ever.

Happy Birthday, CatMom!!  I love your posts each morning, btw!  We are truly blessed to have you in our group!!

Also, I forgot to ask if anyone guessed why they carry their raincoat in their left arm, keeping their right arm free?  I tried to read up on the posts but didn't see the one that guessed Diannep's questions.  Just curious if it got guessed! :)

Good morning everyone!

I got a letter yesterday from my SR. He sounded wonderful. Said he did the gas chamber and it wasn't bad...and then there was the EXCEPT line. Said that except he was standing near the fan that blew the gas and when he took off his mask he tried to hold his breath, didn't work and when they went to run out he accidentally inhaled a bunch and started choking really bad until his nose started bleeding. But he said, "But I didn't let a drop hit the deck, Mom!" He knew!  His uncle told him, "Whatever you do, don't throw up on the deck! If you have to, throw up in your shirt!" LOL!

He sounds wonderful and I cannot wait to see those blue eyes!

Happy Thursday! 8 more days!!

Hello Friends!  In celebration of my b-day, here's my life verse:

"For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only begotten Son,

      that whosoever believeth in Him,

      should not perish,

      but have everlasting life."

Good morning!  I just got a letter from my son!  It started off with Happy Mother's Day and he made me an origami crane for a gift. I'm at work.  I had my other son and home read it to me and now my makeup is a mess.  I should have waited until I got home.  But I am so so happy to hear from him. He made marksman.  He said he would have made sharpshooter but he wasn't patient enough.  He has passed every test and inspection so far and has one more PFA.  He bought his photos and didn't know which too choose either the one with the smile or the stone face, so he picked the smiling one becuase he knew I would like that best.  (I was hoping he would smile).  He also said his division has won every flag that they could up to this point and after battlestations he hopes that they get to eat fast food at NEX. He also said that I might still need to know my password that I used for the gate passes in order to enter the drill hall.  I don't have the letter in front of me for now, I just took notes.  I hope you all get some letters today!!!!
