N4M's Community Guidelines

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi guys,

I haven't posted in here for a long time. My husband just classed up in A-school in Pensacola, where I have taken an extended vacation to join him until he finishes which is about August 8th. I went with him and one of his roommates to the Naval Aviation Museum and took some gorgeous artistic shots of some of the plane but captured the word "Navy" on the planes. I created an artistic set of 6 images and put three of them in a matted frame to create a collage. They turned out really gorgeous and I've decided to sell them on etsy. I am a photographer and am inspired by the Navy patriotism I have encountered since my husband joined the Navy. I will be taking and selling many other items in the future but this is the only one I have now. In the spirit of Navy patriotism, I will give 10% from every purchase as a donation to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Please come check out my site and feel free to give me any feedback. Navy Images at Etsy

Hi there Twodaloo!!  Good to hear an update on your Sailor!!  Mine went to a beach party the first Friday he was there and they got to wear civies. He said he was nervous about it so he went to the NEX and bought a Navy T-shirt and a pair of Navy shorts, not standard issue but still said Navy on them. LOL - still so scared of the shirts which is good I guess!

He said that he should be phasing up here in the next few days and he'll get to wear civies outside of the barracks when he's not on duty so he's excited about that. I told him that I'd send him a box of them.

Glad to hear that.  At least they have some kind of liberty in school.  Mine is in Great Lakes and will be until he gets assigned.  He went to the movies with some of the other sailors in his school.  Still waiting till he can wear his civvies!

Hello All,

Don't see much activity but wanted to update. My sailor is now at Pensacola. He's currently on hold, waiting to class up. Probably won't for a few more weeks so until then it's watch duty and cleaning crew! Ha! That should keep him busy!

I hope everyone else and their Sailors are doing well!!

Glad you got back safely!  PIR was awesome, wasn't it?

I'm home now and had a wonderful time with our sailor.  Experienced Chicago and the Navy Pier.  They were giving free rides on the boat to the sailors so we got to do that.  The only setback was the airlines.  Ohare is an overbooked nightmare and they use any excuse to divert your flight.  Mine was mechanical..We were diverted thru NYC Kennedy and flew from one end of the country to almost another.  Got in at 2:30 am to my house.  I am exhausted but soooo happy.

Hmmm, not sure, bonitacruzita:  I tried about a week after my son's PIR and it was too late.  I would call the Photo Lab first thing in the morning and see what they say:
