~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Jesssea: Is your new sailor staying in GL for A School? If not, the hotel probably doesn't make much difference being 15 minutes away. If he is staying in GL for A School, it may be a little far if you are using it as "home base" while he is on Liberty (they have daytime through the weekend for GL A School students). But....reward points are reward points! Saves money! Hopefully more money that the gas you may spend going back and forth if staying in GL for the weekend.
As far as driving to PIR from that hotel, not a problem. You just leave a little earlier. So, I wouldn't change hotels for that reason.
Good morning Dianne, how are you and how is everyone? Okay I have another question, I know I am a pain!!! We are staying at a hotel about 15 minutes from the PIR location due to my HUSBAND booking it and using reawrd points. I have told him that I feel this will take away from time for us to drive to the PIR. Any inputs or suggestions on this??
Good Morning All !
Thank you Ellen,
Sarge will pick you up from any hotel, not a problem. Send him an email and let him know where and when, he is very accommodating.
Hi all, been out of town over the weekend. The time is ticking down. Does anyone know if we do not stay at a certain hotel, could we still pay Sarge to take us to the PIR if we meet up at a hotel where he does pick up ???
Good Morning Everyone!!
"May the favor of the Lord our God
rest upon us,
establish the work of our hands for us--
yes, establish the work of our hands."
Psalm 90:17
Twodaloo,
The Meet & Greets are only held on the evening before PIR. The night of PIR is spent with your Sailor or you are trying to get a nap in before you head out to the airports to see them off and give them their personal stuff!!
I would love to take some pics of my son for the meet and greet Vicky! However, our flight is in around 5:30 then we have to wait for my daughters flight from Palm Springs. Do you know if they only hold it on the 16th or do they repeat the 17th the night of the graduation? 18 more days and my heart is leaping. I will be so happy to see my son, and my daughter too as she flies in from Palm Springs and I haven't seen her in about a year!!!!
