N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Corryn:  Is your sailor staying in GL or flying out?  If flying out, you will have from about 11 a.m. (PIR is over at 10:30 and they have to sign out from their ships after that)....until abut 8 or 9 pm.  Your sailor will know that day.  They would return to RTC then and get ready for their bus ride to the airport later that night.  Most leave the day after PIR, although some may not until Sunday.

If your sailor is staying in GL for A School, they will move over there shortly after PIR is over.  Takes a few hours and then you pick them up there and have them until about 8 or 9 pm.  You then get to pick them back up the next morning (Sat) and Sun too!  They just have to return to base at night.

As far as gifts, for those flying out, you must meet your sailor at the airport and give the gifts there.  They cannot take them back to RTC with them.  And remember, they must have room to take them so for something large, it may be better to let them open it there, but then mail it to them at A School. They will have a large seabag and garment bag (uniforms) ---these are checked luggage--- and a backpack.  It is advised that they fit their gifts in the backpack if possible---the other 2 bags are pretty full.  Cell phones also have to be handed off at the airport.

Hope this helps!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Those staying in GL for A School can return from Liberty with you with gifts and personal items since they will already be on A School base.

Good morning all! We read 2 new letters from my son last night! Sounds like he's doing well. He talked a lot about all the food he misses! He said they took the 1st of 3 written tests on Monday 4/13. Hoping they all did great!

Hello :) my name is Corryn, my daughter is in Ship 11 div 184 :) I have a question: When PIR is over, what next? Me, my other daughter, my ex-husband and his mom will be attending. I've heard we have 6 hours with our recruit, but when does that time begin and end? Are we allowed to bring gifts? Can they have their cellphones? Omg I am positive my recruit is missin. SnapChat, she would piss me off then call out, Mom! I'd look then she'd snapchat my pic!!! I hated it but now I miss it!
