Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

If my memory is correct those who have A-school in Great Lakes have in the past had liberty on Monday as well when Monday is a holiday. Is that what you remember as well Diannep, Ellen, CatMom?

That is so exciting!! All these acronyms blow my mind...is there a cheat sheet for that somewhere?

I got a letter from my son today! He seems to be adjusting well. He said he missed a chance to call because he was LLD. Not really sure what that means. Smiling from ear to ear right now!

That is awesome!! I'm glad they let her keep those pictures. I already liked checking the mail but it has taken on a whole new obsession!! VERY excited for you and glad she is feeling like she made the right choice.

I got a letter!! She sent me notes for a bunch of people in the same envelope. She wrote my note the day after she arrived in GL others later, said she hadn't slept in 36 hours and that everything was expensive! I don't have a clue what they have to pay for.
Anyway, she sounds miserable but knowing that she made a good life choice.
oh and she said the photos I snuck into her bag, they let her keep! She was happy about that.

Kat216: Those sailors flying out could fly either on Sat. or Sun....holiday weekends can be a little different because of lack of flight availability. So...best for you to stay through at least Sunday if possible just in case. Highly unlikely they will be flying out on Monday though...it should be Sat. or Sun. If they don't fly until Sun., you will have Liberty with them on Sat. If flying on Sat., you can meet them at the airport, with ID for an airlines gate pass, and wait until their plane departs.
