For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

ugh....seriously? Friday night? I was so hoping a full day with my nuke...not for him to leave Saturday. =( Maybe that is what we will do too...get the gate pass and then stay another night to fly back to the west coast on Saturday.

Thank you for the information, CatMom.
He is heading to Charleston and from talking to other Nuke moms, it seems like he will be flying out Friday night (of course that depends on flights. I did hear we can get a gate pass - we actually did this when he left for RTC.
Cheryl, my husband said the woman he spoke to at the Navy lodge was very helpful.

Cheryl, You will have no problem checking in with your reservation under your SRs name, and you have to as s/he is your sponsor. They may ask you at some point after PIR to bring your Sailor to the front desk for confirmation.

My 16 year old sone will be attending graduation with me. He has a dependent id from the marine corp but his dad just retired so I am wondering if we can book at the navel lodge. I know someone said I could book under my SR but he won't be with me when I check in. Would that be an issue?

Mugs,
Most of the Sailors fly out sometime on Saturday starting about 6:00 am. They leave RTC about 12:30 am and arrive at either Chicago O' Hare or Midway Airport about 1:30 am. Then the different groups leave throughout the day. You will be able to go to either of the airports to bring your SR his cell phone, cell phone charger, laptop, ac adapter, own comfy underwear, maybe some favorite snacks from your area. All these items should be put into your SR's Navy issued black backpack. Then you can get a Gate Pass to go with him/her to the gate and visit the eating places and gift shops. Everyone in your party will need a state issued id, school id, birth certificate, or social security card.
