~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We are using Dollar for our car rental, but it sounds like mariekg is getting a better deal!! Ours is $88 Thurs pick up to Sat drop off.
It's supposed to be hot here in So Cal today, but thankfully without the humidity, lol! Our niece, nephew and the greats are in Florida at Disney World and she posted this morning how hot and humid it is.....they live in Oregon, lol, so big difference!
Hello. I am PIR 5-30 DIV 186. I have only met 1 person from my div. I have seen your posts. I am staying at Navy Lodge, and I am going to Sarge's Meet &Greet. I want t
Hello DIV 186 here
Good morning ladies! What a HOT weekend in Florida! I see that it's 39 in GL right now. I know my son is enjoying the colder weather. I love seeing that so many are excited about having booked their flights/hotels! We did too and are looking forward to meeting as many of you as we can.
We are flying into Midway too, cindyb_....also on Southwest. We like that you get two checked bags free, although we probably won't need them this time since our visit will be so short! We have flown into Midway before, so should be ok. I think we get there about 2:30pm Thursday :)
What car rental place did you use? (if you don't mind sharing...)
I think the SR's are in day 5 of Hell week...Hang tough!!! Hope they got some quality time yesterday with a pen and paper because I sure would love an update...:) Got a great rate on a rental car ($79) and a mini van at that! We have a couple of folks that will be watching the PIR back at the hotel so we needed the extra room. AWish I could have gotten into the Lodge but at least I will get some Hilton points from the 2nd place alternative :) Have a great day!
Thank you for the suggestion CatMom! We are flying into Midway airport. Southwest does not go to O'Hare.
Good morning everyone!
Thanks for the suggestion CatMom509! I will do that! Not sure yet if I will be able to get hubby to go to the airport, but I think once he sees our Sailor, and realizes what a short time we had with him on Friday, he will want to go. We already made our plane reservations to fly back home Saturday night, and only got room till Sat. check out, so we will just have to see how this all works out.....
NanM,
Is your SR going to be at A school at Great Lakes? If not, you may want to print the directions from your hotel to O'Hare and Midway Airports to meet your SR there. (Things look different traveling in the middle of the night.) I also did directions between the airports in case I didn't have time to go back to the hotel after my Sailor daughter left.
