~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Didn't know anything about a basket. What do we do?

Hey Campers ... Any ideas for the Sarges Meet and Greet basket?  Was going to bring and extra large NY style cheese Cake but I am not too sure it would hold up if we get delayed at airport ...(might have to take a bite  :)

Could be MUSCLE weight, NanM!  They do work hard at their PFAs!  My son looked like he had actualyl lost weight at his PIR....he really didn't need to, but he looked good!  I bet you will feel the same when you see your sailor in person!

I believe that some sailors should be calling today!  Maybe from 929!  So keep those phones close!

mariekg so did we! got to talk to him for 40 minutes. We had a bunch of friends over for a BBQ and he called just as i was ready to take everything off the grill. Fortunately all understood and didn't mind a little "well done" chicken (they just drank more!). It was so touching he called our daughter and she started crying when she answered. Can't wait to hold him.

We got a surprise call from our Sailor yesterday during our BBQ.  He was elated about the captains cup and went on and on about the Division.  It was so nice to hear him being playful again and laughing.  My candle still burns until all our SR's are wearing Navy Caps and smiling   :)

When we saw our son performing at the PIR this past Friday on the live stream, it looked like he has gained weight too.....maybe that is why he is having trouble with his PFAs. I thought they were all going to get worked so hard that they would all lose weight!

YAY!!!!3 days. When I spoke to SR Sunday she said she had gained weight... But didn't say how much. She says the food is good, but she wants some southern fried food. Lol

Hello All!

Good morning ladies. 3 DAYS!!!!!!!

mariekg,

The earliest possible time you could know your SR's flight arrangements is when they do the "I'm a Sailor" call.  My daughter really only knew the time she was leaving for which airport, but couldn't think of her flight time.  It will cost you a pretty penny to try to change your flight plans at this late date!

She flew out of Midway at 11:00 am and we flew out of O'Hare at 6:30 pm, so it was no problem for us to go back to our hotel, arrange a late check-out, nap, and head out to O'Hare at about 3:30 pm,   She went to Pensacola, FL to train for IT~~
