OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

ChristineL, Do you know what your SRs rating is? If you know that we can probably help you with where his A School is.

Regardless of where he is going to school you will at least want to stay through Sunday morning. You can go to the airport on Sat and wait with your sailor until the flight leaves. If A School is in GL liberty will be part of Friday, and daytime until about 10pm on Sat and Sun.

Just found this site yesterday. Glad to be here with other SR moms. We are trying to make plans for PIR (06/06/14) and actually booked 2 nights (Thurs. & Fri) at the Navy Lodge.  I'm just wondering, before I book flights, how long should we be staying.  Looking around the site 2 nights may not be enough.  I don't know yet where his A school will be.  Any suggestions?

Good morning and happy Saturday. It is nice and sunny here in NC but a little cooler than normal. I hope you all are having a great weekend. I am spring cleaning and gathering stuff for a yardsale. Gotta make extra money so I can go out and have a bunch of fun with my Sailors when I fly to CA to visit them. This is going to be a REAL adventure for me. I've never been to CA and I have never flown before. So I am super excited about the whole experience. :)

mrsrds:  Hmm......I would say it is about a 1/2 mile walk from the main entrance to PIR Hall....but it isn't bad at all.  If you are comfortable walking in wedges, go for it!  Some will take "heels" into PIR Hall and put them on in there if they want to dress up that way.  We had snow when we were there, so many types of shoes weren't feasible....boots worked for me.
