~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

deb, The 900 divisions do not march in and are not in formation like the other divisions as they are spread out throughout the drill hall, an remain there for the ceremony.

You aren't denied anything, but you do have the honor of having a Sailor who has been hand picked to be part of the Ship Staff/Honor Guard during PIR.

Those Sailors ensure that the hundreds of guests attending find their way and are safe and secure. They greet the Officers, and perform tasks behind the scenes that you may not see, but are important in making PIR run smoothly and memorable ceremony for all.

Congrats on the calls today!

Ellen0502..I guessed that part, but that is only during the. "Before" portion, like the greeters? And then he will b w/his division for the actual ceremony, right? I want to see him w/all of the other SR's in formation..am I going to b denied that?
Comment by ellen0502 on April 27, 2014 at 8:31pm

deb, I am guessing since he is in the 900 division his station during PIR is on the upper level in the north corner. He is just letting you know where he will be during the ceremony so you can see him. :)

Talked to my son today!!! Poor kid sounds exhausted! He said it is really stressful and if he has to do anymore ITE's because people won't shut their mouths he's going to loose it. Lol

Not sure where my earlier post went?? BUT I got a call from my son today! Unfortunately, with my hearing aid and cochlear implant, the phone is not my best friend. I was not able to understand all that he was trying to tell me,but he is ok and that's the best news. He said he wrote a short letter this morning...the other news is strange...he will not b on the floor during PIR,so I am to sit in the northern corner in the upper level...can anyone explain that to me?

diannep: Nothing can touch me right now. lol After 19 days of complete silence I got to talk to my SR for 41min today. I'm on top of the world.
Comment by diannep on April 27, 2014 at 6:23pm

I know, Ashley.  I'm so sorry....hoping that it all works out for him to come home to meet his daughter when it is time.  Try and put the recruiter behind you, if possible....your SR can do this, even with untruths that were shared, and I know he will do great!
