N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

So sorry I have been MIA, we are in FL and I haven't been able to use my computer until now and N4Ms is not iPhone friendly or I am just nuts and don't know how to use it lol. Our FL Meet and Greet is tomorrow (Friday) night at 7pm at Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs for anyone in the nearby areas who would like to join us :) I hope everyone is having a great week :)

For those of you with sailors staying in GL for  A School.

You will have approx one hour after PIR with your sailor before s/he has to report back to their ship on the RTC side and move over to the other side of the base (TSC). This process can take several hours, s/he will call you when they are ready to leave for liberty, so keep your phones handy. Your sailors have to be back on base each night sometime between 8-10pm. You sailor will have briefed on times when they get checked in.

On Sat and Sun your sailor will also have liberty (duty may interfere somewhat). Liberty on Sat and Sun is generally  between 6am-10pm (hours can vary).

Your sailor must report back to base each night, and s/he cannot be late. Late return may mean loss of liberty, loss of liberty hours etc. In the Navy "on time" is late.

The Navy Lodge is on base, although it is not behind a gate. It is located in the base family housing. It is only a little over a mile, but you can't walk to the base from the Navy Lodge.  Most of the roads are main roads with no sidewalks.

Does anyone know how far of a walk it is from the Navy Lodge to the ceremonial hall? Is the Navy Lodge on the RTC Base?

mrsb:  Such a horrible dilemma you had with those Hersheys kisses hopping into your hand.  I can't see where you had any other choice!  :-)

Chocolate keep the estrogen in check...yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  :-)

Ok, back to business.

Ladies, remember to be checking under the PAGES info up top, under MEMBERS PHOTO BOX, for lots of info.  If you don't see what you are looking for there, please post a question here.

BeachBunny...that excuse won't work...you know that chocolate is very bad for a dog!  So....come up with a different one....like....you mailed it to your sailor!  :-)

Comment by mrsb on May 9, 2013 at 2:10pm

somehow the conversations often seems to come back to chocolate...  :)

Comment by mrsb on May 9, 2013 at 2:09pm

diannep, enjoy your walk!!  I did eat an orange earlier (trying to be good) but then some hersheys kisses jumped into my hand!!  What could I do-I had to eat them!!

You walk way more than I do!!  I can only squeeze in a walk after work and the dogs don't always cooperate!!

Comment by BeachBunny on May 9, 2013 at 2:06pm

Sound's like some of you need more chocolate or a good walk....:)) I've done both today! hummm.when my daughter comes home from school and ask about her rocky road chocolate Easter egg...I think the dog ate it! Hoping for letters today!!!
