Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

You have a very good point there jaime30024!  My son's division had BS last week and are leaving early.  See, I'm trying not to get in trouble again!

I also want to thank all the veteran moms here who have helped us so, so much!  I don't know what I would have done without all the help and support. :)

Mom's the up side to having an SR go in a later division...sure we suffer longer, BUT I believe travel plans are made AFTER battlestations (at least last night my girl told me travel is today).  So that means that as the flights are booked it is possible that they will be on a later flight an maybe we will get some extra time with them.  Yes....I am always trying to find the 'silver lining'!!!  Hang in there...your calls will come!

I would like to add my thanks to all of the veteran moms.  From setting up pages, and answering questions (sometimes the same ones over and over) to "no no" when we get way too excited and post something that we know we shouldn't.  All the tips that you have given and the time that you provide.  I appreciate it and will definitely try to pay it forward!

I am thankful for the ladies that I have 'met' here and will meet tomorrow!  Thankful for the friendships that I have already built and the new Navy family that I have!

You all are very welcome!  We "tag team" pretty well, right?  Setting up the pages, which both FTLW and ellen do for all of the PIR groups, is a chore....that they do with happiness for you!  So glad that they are on our little team!  We are always here to help....even after PIR is completed!  Just find us here on the PIR groups!  :-)
