~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Got the call this afternoon, my SR was very emotional and pretty distraught.  He said he's been sick and had an awful cough.  Said they've been sitting on tile floors most of the time (not sure what that's about)  He passed the push-ups and sit-ups but not the running yet.  Had him on speaker phone so we all reassured him and he was much better near the end of the call.  We also got his girlfriend on another phone and on speaker.  His birthday is next Saturday and I forgot to wish him a "Happy Birthday"  Clearly it is not going to be great.  Said the food is GREAT and it's all he looks forward to.

My son is div 213.  If you received a call saying your son had teeth pulled, and couldn't talk, please let me know.

I got a phone call today at 4:12 pm.  He is doing fine.  Sounded upbeat.  He said he called the mother of his shipmate, who just had teeth pulled.  If you received a call from my son saying your son had teeth pulled and couldn't talk, please let me know.  I would love to know who you are.  Our sons are becoming friends, so we should, also.

Glad you got a call today :) I was hoping for a call but no luck so far. My son is in ship 03 div 213. He actually called last weekend which I wasn't expecting. He sounded really good then, hoping he still is. It's always nice to be one up on them hee hee.

My SR Called today and I really impressed him.  He was struggling, just because of the uncertainty of when the call would need to end, with which details to give and leave out, about a story he was wanting to share.  I could sense the source of his over anxiousness and so I helped him out, "Oh, you are talking about the brother division 813,"  He broke from his story to say, "what" and I said, "You know, you're in 812 and your brother division is 813." He was on speaker with my husband and I.  He said, "Yes, but how did you know that?"  I winked at my husband (who knows about my research all over this site) and I said, with a smile on my face, "I'm your mom, I know everything."  he said, "I guess you do!"  Thanks NavyforMoms, you're my little secret!

GR8RABsMom - Here it is again...

http://www.operationwearehere.com/BratTownBugle.html

it might be being deleted from the thread for some reason.  If that happens, try googling "Brat Town Bugle"

Here is a cut/paste from the web site - Brat Town Bugle was developed by Benita Koeman, founder of Operation We Are Here, to help bridge the gap between home front kids and their geographically separated parent.

Waiting, waiting, waiting . . . willing that phone to ring!  It's been a long time since I've waited for a phone call like this!  Come on Ship 13, Division 218/220, pull together, earn that privilege, and call your mommas!!  Let's will it together, Moms!!

WEAllGoByGeorgeLongStory . . . my SR has young cousins that love writing to him.  I would love that link with printable pages, but I don't see a link on your posting.  Can you please send it again?  Thank you!
