~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Oops I see you said that you have not received a box yet.

Is he going to be mailing his information to you? Someone else?

You will need the address with the correct Ship/ Division in order for the letters to get to him (I saw your posts on another group). You cannot use "800" it won't get to him.

ZachAttack - There is no way to give you a "for sure " (I know you were asking for a likely though :-)) as only your Form Letter can do that.

BUT, I will say that there is a SPECOP Division for this date (there is also one for the TG behind this one though and have no idea if there is one ahead. Form Letters along with RTC's official posting of the TG's are the only for sures.).

Also, I do know that another SPECOP mom has an SR that arrived on the same date as your son and has the Form Letter and her PIR is this one.

The counting of weeks lines up as well.

So, it is very likely BUT there can always be changes...for many reasons. I am hoping you get your Form Letter soon. Have you received his Box yet (if he sent one home that is.)?

Not sure if I am on the right group.  Can some one give a nod or point me in the correct direction.  My son arrived in Great Lakes on Wed., April 10th with a Seal Contract. Still haven't received a call, box or letter.  I need to give a requested black out date at work for his graduation.  Can anyone tell me, based on his arrival date and contract, if he will likely be part of the group that graduates on 6/7?

First of all thanks FTLW for beginning this site- all ready makes me feel better reading how other moms are going thru the same things I have been.

Received the form letter and sent my son his first letter from home today. Such mixed emotions!  Hard to know what to say- of course how proud we are of him and to hang in there!

Now if only that first phone call home would come!

Hi, Ladies.  I'm another N4Moms veteran on here with FTLW, ellen, Lala, and Betsy.  Been helping on the PIR groups since early 2010, shortly after my son PIRed.   We are all on here to help you through bootcamp!  Yep, you ladies go through it too!  :-)

So ask questions whenever you like.  We will be posting info for you on here, a little at a time so as not to overwhelm you.  Keep your eye on the PAGES section under the MEMBERS photo box above and to the right.  You will see more info added there in the days to come.

Welcome to Navy Bootcamp!  :-)

Oops, forgot to tell you who I am. Giggling

My sons PIR  was a year ago this April, he stayed in GL for A School (ET), is currently in San Diego for C School and will be heading out to the fleet in July.

While my son was in BC I was a stalker of my mailman, broke down at the grocery store when I realized I had picked up my sons favorite Little Debbies and he wasn't coming home to eat them, left another store as the clerk was checking me out because my phone rang showing an 847 area code (a few angry and perplexed customers as I yelled I have to answer this as I ran toward the door), refused to go anywhere that there was not phone service (unless it was late at night). I worried all the time (still do), but did learn to live with the "no news is good news" saying by yelling "FOR WHO?"

This is a heck of a rollercoaster ride, it will get easier just maybe not better. The biggest reward at the end of it is the best hug you will ever get!

Post all the questions you may have, there are no dumb ones.
