Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Comment by BoyWonderMom on June 3, 2013 at 8:41pm: Just talk to my sailor for about an hour. He's so happy and enjoying this lasts days at bootcamp, was ready to go into Taco Bell and KFC. Stuffing his face with a Hershey bar. I'm so glad everything is coming together now. Hoping for the success of all the SR's that need to go thru battlestations, may ur God lead and bless their way. The car is ready to go, all packed. We r leaving in the morning, from Orlando on a 13 hour drive to KY, on Wednesday will get to Chicago to pick up my oldest son from Ohare, and will be ready to go to Sarge's on Thursday. Have a safe trip everyone, enjoy this exciting time. It's a matter of days to see our boys and girls ⚓

Comment by diannep on June 3, 2013 at 8:34pm: Ok, never mind. After much searching, I see that some of you are receiving calls from sailors who became sailors last week, not last night. Looks to me like no one went through last night. Unless calls are coming in very late, which is possible!

Trying to determine if they went through. or maybe just 930. Someone post division numbers please of sailors making the I'm a Sailor calls today. Thanks!
