Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

polopats--We will also be staying at the Navy Lodge, driving in from Tupelo, Mississippi. Are you driving to the M and G, or having Sarge pick you up?
mom2cdjk -- CONGRATULATIONS to your SR!! That is very exciting ... and you get VIP seats!!
Congrats, mom2cdjk! So wonderful!
Yes you are Jaime30024!!! Only two weeks to go, I'm so excited!!
Mrsb I am member of a 900 division FB page and the members pay it forward. Get to PIR early and take lots of pictures of the supporting two 900 divisions to try to spot our SRs I got lucky.
Thanks FTLW. I will read that 30 more times and pass your test! LOL! I do appreciate the info though!
While I am thinking about it...their ID is actually known as a CAC and does much more than just identify them.
CAC is Common Access Card through the DOD (Department of Defense). You need a CAC reader in which the CAC slips into. The Sailor can then access Navy only sites and myPay in order to access information for their career track, orders, continuing education etc.
myPay is the DFAS (Defense Financing and Accounting Service) site where all branches can access their LES - Leave and Earning Statements. They do not receive a "paycheck" with a stub...it's all done through direct deposit and the LES. myPay can be accessed through their CAC or a username/password.
Here are some links if you feel like poking around:
Now memorize this...there's a test later. LOL
BUT you can now throw some acronyms at your SR's and impress them!
Heather - The ID photo is taken very early on, that's why it is usually horrible...no hair, tired etc.
The Photos for purchase are taken during Training Week 4 in their Dress Blues.
mrsb - Since jaime's SR is in a 900 Division, they usually perform for the two PIR's before theirs as well as their own. RTC FB posts pictures (when they can) of the PIR's and so folks sometimes see their SR.
Here is the link to the May 17th RTC FB:
