OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Lisaz, isn't it amazing to see/hear the change in them in just a few weeks?  I can't believe how different my son sounds now too.  It's wonderful!!

Letters from my girl ship12/217 she also says their division is the best lol gotten all their flags idk what all that means but she's wishing for hall of fame she thinks she got sharpshooter also got ribbons and medal she sounded really happy and said they are so excited for PIR had to go to hospital for bad ear ache and she passed 2nd pfa with a 12:30 run and she said that was with shin splints and being sick she was happy about that she said she don't know how she did it but I know it's cause of everyone's prayers for all the sr I believe that.she said the shot gun was scary but my husband took her and taught her to shoot a bunch before she left and in her letter she thank him and said it was because of him that she did so well that was sweet he is a deputy sheriff so he has a lot of experience with guns I'm glad she gave her dad some credit also he was so proud to hear that it made his day she also said every one in her div is awesome she sounds different to me it's a good thing I really think they are doing a great job at RTC with our kids.she also has a good friend in her division. I feel at ease she has another girl she can relate too and a few crushes:) but she said she is being good that girl is a mess lol so happy her letters are up beat and that they all are doing so good so for now ill pray for her and all the SR to have a safe and wonderful battle stations and other test that they pass and they are all healthy and well

My SR says that Division 213 is the best of the training group.  They did well on their marching inspection, and no longer have to have an RDC when they march.  Apparently that is a big deal!!  :)

You're very welcome.  Hoping he will be adding to the "chest candy" during his Navy career!

Yah for Poochie, Lala!  So glad!

Good Morning All !

ProudNavyMom#1:  They most likely will be flying out on Saturday, bussed in the wee hours to the airports to wait for flights.  You can meet them there.  There is always a chance they will fly out on Sunday, but most of the times, it is Saturday.  Try to book your flights home on Sunday...just in case!
