OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. We spent the day at the lake with our family and had a nice time. We even saved a lost 8 yr old boy. We were at the picnic area and he was with several members of his family. They packed up all their stuff in 3 different cars to leave. He went to the bathroom to change and when he came back all of his family was gone. He didn't even know any of their phone numbers or his home address. I called 911 and told them we had found a lost child and the sheriffs dept came. The family live over an hour away and after about 40 min the realized they had left him. Mom thought he was in dads car and dad thought he was with mom. When they figured it out they call 911 to say their child was lost/left behind. I guess they were worried something would happen to him before they got back. The whole ordeal took about 2 hours before the parents got back to get him. He didn't cry but we could tell he was really worried. His dad came to thank us and I told him, in a nice way, to teach that child their cell phone number. Thank goodness we found him and it all turned out okay :) We also went to my mom's grave site and cleaned it and put flowers there. She passed away Dec 20th and I sure do miss her.

Hey Momma's I was just reading all these post and they are mostly from div 201.  My son is in div 202 and I did not get a call on Sunday.  Did anyone else from div 202?  Am I reading this correct the weather was bad so all calls were cancelled?

If your SR orders the Pkg A photo pkg while at Bootcamp, The Keel (yearbook) is added for free.  After Bootcamp, that must be ordered separately.

EstherH:  Your SR is the one who needs to order the pics.  If he/she didn't order any, than the family members can go with him/her to the Photo Lab after PIR and order them.  Here is the phone number if you have questions:

AACK! okay CatMom509, I clearly need your help! We are stationed overseas and other family members will be going to the PIR on 06/13...where do I find the page to print out for my SR so we can have the graduation pics/dvd?

THANK YOU for any help you can provide!

Comment by CatMom509 on May 12, 2014 at 12:19pm

Lisa,

At this point, only your SR can order the pics.  If you print out the page and let your SR know what you want and include with your next letter, maybe they can order it then.  The PIR DVD is separate and is a MUST HAVE for $29!!

After PIR is the only other time you can order the pics yourself, but the Keel (yearbook) won't be included in Package A then.  You might want to go off with your Sailor then come back before the Photo Lab closes that day or during the weekend (if your Sailor is going to be at Great Lakes A school).  The Photo Lab is really crowded directly after PIR.
