Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Joyce 0822 - I understand how you feel. My son had to call again for some info to finish up his security clearance. After not hearing from him for several weeks, it was great to hear from him. However, he wasn't able to chit chat, just get the info, and get off. That was terrible. He didn't sound upbeat, rather he was stressed. I could hear it in his voice. That just made it worse.
BUT-------------look up at that counter thing...only 16 days!! It's not WEEKS anymore...we can actually say days. I end every letter to my SR with "see you very soon!" Just keep thinking about that. It won't be long now. Feel better.
CatMom - How very appropriate that scripture is. Thank you.
Hello all, I'm sorry I've not been blogging. I've been so sad lately. I've not hear my SR's voice in three weeks. I'm crying just thinking about him. I did receive a letter last week telling me he is fine, passing all PFA's and enjoying bootcamp. He made some really good friends and that makes me happy. I too am counting down the days that I can just touch his precious face! :( I too am looking forward to M&G's.
You guys get blessed twice today!
This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon. Perhaps you can share with your SR in a letter now.
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name;
you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames
will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One
of Israel, your Savior..."
Isaiah 43:1b-3a
Hi Friends!
"This is what the Lord says--
Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
I am the Lord Your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go."
Isaiah 48:17
Thanks for the Hugs and virtual sunshine! I talked to my mom yesterday and she said it had been HOT in Ruidoso...I'm ready for that!! I'm sitting at my desk with my space heater running! Crazy!!
Yes! 16 more days for PIR, but 13 before we head out that way. I'm starting to get butterflies, but am doing a lot of crying off and on throughout the day. Go figure? Got a bag to begin adding what we need for PIR--thanks for the list. I am so looking forward to M&G.
Lori-I'm sending you some of our NM sunshine your way. {{{Hugs}}}
Irene-My son will be going to A school in FL too.
Awww....lori....hang in there....hoping the sun will shine in your part of the country soon and you can enjoy that, feel better. Just know that he is well taken care of, in process to becoming a sailor, and misses you too! But it will all be worth it on PIR Day! :-)
Here is a video that I hope will lift your spirits! I may have posted it in this group before? Being on so many PIR groups can get confusing! But here is it again for any who may have missed it! Happy Tears!
Having a tough day today...just in an overall bad mood :(
Missing my recruit, ready for the 14th, ready to hear his voice again. The weather here (Wisconsin) is just awful...cold and rainy, doesn't help my mood! :) Very much in need of warm sunshine and a hug from my son!
