Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

vysc: Two different places. Sarge's is the one at Sundance Saloon (both are kid friendly....don't let the name fool you! He reserves the space). Sarge's will have the most info for you.

Thank you Ladies for the welcome. After reading Lala Ribbon Queen's comment I cried too. I'm missing my SR a lot. Most of the time I'm good, but I have my moments. I pray for my son's wife, whoever that may be. If he makes the Navy his career she will have to be a strong and understanding wife. Anyway, is the Sundance Saloon at the Ramada Inn or are these 2 different places?

I know I've seen this somewhere, and am very sorry to ask, however, what are the places to eat in Ricky heaven? My SR is in div 227, so probably won't have much time, if any, after the "I'm a Sailor" call. But I'd like to send some gift certificates just in case.

Welcome vysc3!!
I loved it when my now Sailor daughter sent me the link here in October! It was my lifesaver, especially when they got into their intense training stage and all we had at that time were their letters!! She graduated Boot Camp in March and it seems to far ago, but really has not been (only been 2 1/2 mos!)
