N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Cool!!  Great that your daughter is healed up!!  Now onto PIR!!  Oh, when you get a chance, check out my "Pertinent PIR Tips" up above in the Discussion Forum.  There is a place called Octagon that your daughter might like!!

So glad your SR is progressing along toward PIR!!  I think they are allowed to make multiple phone calls after they pass Battlestations.

FLANavyMom1051,

Your Challenge Coin will probably arrive on Tuesday because Monday is a holiday--at any rate, for sure by the 30th.  You will love it when you see it!!

auh00 & bananas1051,

It's always really nice when our SRs write letters to each member of the family!!  My Sailor daughter always wrote to each one of us most weeks--her 2 sisters, mommy, and daddy.  She tried to write a little something each day and she was really good about putting the week and training date up in the corner, so could kinda follow what she was doing on the day-by-day account.  That schedule is up on the pages underneath the members pictures~~  Try to have someone taking photos of that big squeeze when you see your SR again!

WooHoo janaismom!!!! Glad to see your daughter is back in the thick of things and that you are both re-attached to a PIR group.

Hi Moms! I'm new to this group, my daughter just joined Ship 3, Div 211 after spending four weeks in RCU with a stress fracture. It's been a long ride, she started at BC on 3/19. Her original PIR date was 5/17, but I got her call tonight, confirming for 6/14.  So excited!  Now comes rebooking the air and hotel, and starting the countdown again!  Hooyah!

Congrats Deedee on your good grades!!  It must have been very hard keeping up with your school work while worrying about your SR.
