74 degrees in Chicago. that is awesome. I love the weather and count down on this page. God, I hope I get a letter from my son today. If I hear sad news in my letter I will be so devestated.  I feel so bad for "mynavyguy".    I went to Annapolis this weekend and there were sailors everywhere (big Navy town) - there were also a bunch of men with missing legs. I worry about my boy so much. He has signed on for 6 years. A lot can happen in 6 years.  I pray for everyone's safety. Yes, I am proud of my son... but I want him home with me.  (can ya'll see why he wanted to get as far away from me as possible? my goodness!)

Hey Linda.  I'm so excited to hear your son is on ship 9, div 208 also!  Will be keeping in touch with you.  Have a good day and I will be praying for your son also.

I received 2 letters today... He is finally getting my mail.   Not the best of news. My heart sank when I read his letters and I shed tears of sadness for him. My son has been really sick and was talking he may have to return home early in the first letter as he has been so ill with a terrible respitory infection. He said their division had very bad luck and got one of the three worst RCD's on the entire base.  Second letter states he is feeling better and now has medicine and he is hoping to join his division soon. I hope he is getting better please pray for him to improve and get strong enough to join everyone. Just breaks my heart.

You all will find that the friends they make in bootcamp/A School are very special friendships.  I guess because "misery loves company" and also because they have to bond and work together as a team to get through this.  It allows them to focus on the positive in one another.  And that creates neat friendships!  Is bootcamp a pleasant experience?  I would think certainly not.  Does it result in many positive attributes in many life areas?  Absolutely.  They will be thrilled to be out of bootcamp, but will carry so much maturity/life lessons with them.  It is really a neat thing to observe.

Thank you Sunnyb I like what you said It helps I also hope they are having a laugh or two...I have mostly not so "happy" images in my head I know it's really hard what they are going through. I just hope they have some good times here and there I'm just going to focus on the posative and stay proud But you do have a point if we had gotten letters about misrey...Well that would't be good LOVE
