WAITING to REJOYCE with you...!!!  where are those I"m Sailor posts..??!!

Thanks diannep.. glad you think their picking on them about this sight was not a serious thing. I didn't want to be the reason he got more to do..  but I told him, I didn't think I could appoligize because this was the only thing keeping me informed, and sane for 2 months. :)  Also your words about your son with tears in his eyes during graduation almost brought some to mine. I'm SO sure he would have been proud! My mom has been gone since I was 18 and every now and then I wonder what she would think if she saw my boys.  ~feelin mushy~   hugs!!

I think I'm wearing white pants and a red shirt to graduation... hair up! look for meeeee! Will be shoving out in the car about 4am..! woot woot

Amen, tysmom, on the RDCs comment!

And....I hope Grandpa's spirit is felt with you all on PIR day.  How proud he would have been...I'm thinking he will have a big smile on his face in Heaven that day!

diannep.I have tears ...grandpa died 7 years ago and my SR is the first grandson (18 of them) to go in the military...he would be so proud...I am sure your husband would have been proud also!!!!!!

He would always say to him "Grandpa what did you do in the war? "(WWII- Army).

diannep: You painted a good picture of the 'huddled RDCs" ! They push these SRs to see what they are made of.That's not at all bad....we may see some real changes in the young men and women that left us...changes for the good!!! They are making life decisions......in all the little and big things they do while a SR.

tysmom:  From what we know...and remember, the sailors are not allowed to talk about the specifics of BattleStations- it's confidential....they are evaluated on teamwork and as individuals.  They also can't fall asleep!  Most of them pass, but there are usually a few that have to repeat it.

tysmom: I was so excited before my son's PIR that I drove my older son nuts.  I'm normally not that "wild," but since my sailor as there over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays (delays them a bit) and got asmoed a week, he had been there for a long time.  I remember getting upset with my older son during the ceremony because I noticed that he wasn't taking pictures (we each had a camera)...then saw that he had tears in his eyes....I'm sure he was thinking about how proud their dad would have been of our sailor...he had passed away when they were teens.  Needless to say, when I saw my son's tears, I felt awful to have been so selfish and not realized how hard this was on him too...he was so close to his dad.  Phlewww....

It is just an amazing weekend and we ladies are not responsible for the strange things we do and say!  :-)

Sunny:  Some of the RDCs just like to hassle them a bit about this site and comments made.  I love to see them trying to connect comments with their SRs.  But remember....cities and states are posted here...divisions too in some cases...so they have that info.  Plus if any names are revealed...even first names...bingo....plus when anyone posts all that their SR experienced, verbatim....that makes it easier for them to figure it out too. I know that some also pull an SR in to see this site and ask if that is "your mom", etc. But it is all in fun.  I picture the RDCs huddled together, reading this site (Hi there!)....and I think it is fun for them to place comments with sailors.

But we LOVE the RDCs, don't we ladies?  Seriously, they do NOT have easy jobs with such a mix of different personalities, life experiences, ages, etc...to manage.  So they have my full respect for all that they do.  They may yell and make your SR miserable for a while, but all to pull out of them what they never knew they had inside or could do (my sailor and I just re-visited this in a conversation this week...).  In the end, they are very proud of each and every one of their sailors, as you will see at PIR!

I am sooooo excited....everyone in our home has to be packed and ready tonight before xbox etc.....one of his brothers  can not attend because they only let four of us in.I was hoping my SR could get a "ticket" from some one else.

Can't wait for that door to open!!!

KC'sMom:  Only last names are prohibited on here.  So you are GOOD!

Still praying for you and Squeekerz and the journey that your SRs are taking.  I bit different from the journeys being taken on here, but the "reward" is the same for them....that NAVY cap!  So prayers continue....for healing and continued training!
