Oh my.  that'd suck. I hate getting yelled at.  I'm glad my SR was pretty laid back and didn't take things like that personally...  I wish I could've talked to him.  I really want to know what's going through his head.  btw, he said he doesn't know if he's met your son, KC, 'cause they only call each other by last name.

My son asked an RDC at his new injured division if he would be able to watch his old division at PIR. The RDC screamed at him so bad for asking that the vein in the middle of his forehead was bulging out and spit was flying out of his mouth as he screamed. Nice. So, is that a "no"? hahahhaa.  Good Lord.

Donna...yes, I heard they got all the flags, too!  So happy for them!  KC'smom...yes, I will keep in touch.....I forgot to get your son's new address from you so I can send words of encouragement.....Kori, too!  I really don't know how much contact they have with their original divisions...hopefully they at least let them observe the Battlestations, etc. if only just to cheer them on, right?  Congrats, Meryl....I know he must be relieved to get over that hurdle!  They really do want them to succeed, and help them all they can.  Yes, Kori was telling me how many were sick there.  She said she had the sniffles, but otherwise okay.

My son is feeling better and has passed his PFA.  Finally got his running conquered by just a thread (12:15 was passing and that's what he got).  Got a phone call from him too, at last.  He was sick most of Boot Camp but I think he's going to make it.

Oh, I am so jealous of all of you. I hope that you check in w/ me after graduation to tell me how your SR's are doing. I will probably be on the boot camp group for all eternity. My son just might PIR before his 6 year term is up w/ the navy. We're hoping, anyway. I met a mom whose son was a fitness partner w/ my son. He told his mom he misses 'KC'. My heart breaks anytime I hear of someone who was in a division w/ my boy But, I'm coming to terms with it. Is anyone's SR going to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey? That is where my son would have been heading 6/18. I would love to hear updates on that school.   He was so excited about heading to beautiful Monterey, Ca.

Joy125- I'm very glad they didn't raise their hands and got to call.
He said Their Division is doing well. Got all the flags and he got promoted to E2. He misses home.
I can't wait until Friday. I'm overflowing with pride.
God bless our Injured and prayers being sent daily.
PEACE!!!!

Archangel:  That is right.  The black or navy backpacks or carryon duffles are optional for the sailors.  They are not supplied by the Navy.  You buy them for the SR if they want to take personal items with them to A School.  Some want them, some don't.  Some wait and have you mail their personal items to A School.  I suggest that you take it with you for your sailor to use after PIR--cell, laptop, some civilian clothes---they can wear in the hotel room only, etc....the worst that can happen is that you return home with it and mail it all later.  But if you meet your sailor at the airport, your sailor can take this to A School.
