Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

thanks for the update wasn't sure they wouldn't get pushed back due to power outage. You certainly have the hotline to RTC. Glued to the phone. Best wishes to all, see you at Sarges ....

SA2004: They should get to call unless they have "watch" and miss the calls.  I hope you get one!

I got a really long call from my son earlier today.  *(OPSEC) [keep your phones close]  He sounded so happy and really wonderful.  He loves bootcamp and the friends he has made.  He is Ship 2 Div 932.  When he called he was in "heaven" eating and cutting up with friends *(OPSEC)  So let's all pray!!!  *(OPSEC) See ya'll Friday!!!

*(BS info removed. The RTC considers it ship movement)

I got a 2 hr call from my wife yesterday/today (Tuesday) and although they didnt go to battlestaions due to power outage, she was upbeat and excited. I asked if she knew if she was an honor grad and she said she didnt know and they hadnt said anythig to her. Overall we shared many laughs and stories about her training and time there as well as my stories about my son and I. We are super excited for Friday. Also Dianne you were RIGHT!! We will be seeing our Future Sailor earlier than expected. We received our letter stating that she is an Honor Grad and we will be able to attend the special ceremony before PiR. All in all, I am happy for ALL the graduates on 6/19. Congratulations to all you guys.
