N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We stayed at the Navy Lodge when we went to PIR. It also only took us about an hour to get there from Midway. The hotel has also just gone through some remodeling so...:) It is just a hop skip and a white picket fence away from the RTC and TSC so very close and convenient.

The back fence to base is not far away from the hotel and at colors on base you can hear TAPS at the hotel. The Friday after we picked up my son from the TSC side we went back to the hotel, he wanted out of those tighty-whities right away. Giggling Just as we were getting to the car we heard TAPS, my son stopped, turned toward the sound and stood at attention until it finished. I just stood there and cried,,,again.

Paulamarie, I hope you had a very nice Birthday :)

Navywife, It is about an hours drive to the Navy Lodge from the Airport but can take longer if traffic is heavy. The Navy Lodge is right next to the base but outside the gate in the military housing area. It is about 1.5 miles by car. There are some much nicer hotels but the Navy Lodge is affordable and we liked it.

Saturday was my birthday, and I got my boyfriend's call! It was PERFECT timing. Perfect. I know this is a navy mom's group, but it seems to be so much more supportive and kind than other sites. And it is SO informative. Anyway, he is on Ship 14, Div 232. Y'all are good moms who clearly love your sons and daughters. Keep it up!

SoProud  Thanks for responding and thanks for your kind words.  I am trying not to worry but sometimes that is just not possible.  I am sure every mother/significant other on here can relate.  I was actually home all day Saturday and Sunday and therefore the cell phone issue was not the problem.  As they are so early in the process I did not realize that they were assigned to watch etc yet.  I am extremely proud of my son whether he has extra responsibilities or not.  Good to hear your son said everyone in his doing good.  I have not seen anyone else with someone in this division yet so you were the only one I could ask about their call.  Thank you for taking the time to answer and all the encouragement and kind words.  I too hope they all get to call home next weekend!
