N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I for sure will pray. I had a rare fast growing breast CA when my twins were 19 months old. I serviced a.tennis ball size tumor that grew in 5 months. I prayed at the time to give me strength to deal with what I had to, that God take care of my boys and for beautiful flowers in the spring, looked up to see a bright shooting star. All three prayer were answered. Here I am 17+ years later, got to raise my twins and my flowers were 3-4 ft. Tall that spring. You bet I will pray.

Prayers for Debbie, Lala.  Hope she will be ok.

Sorry Diannep, I was around just not very much for a couple of days. My best friend/sister-in-law of 17 years is battling breast cancer. It is the fast growing kind and she had a double mastectomy yesterday morning. She may get to come home from the hospital tomorrow. She is in Alabama and I wasn't able to go there because I have a knee injury and cannot drive more than a couple miles. So I was texting with my niece/her 13 yr old daughter throughout the day staying updated on her condition and working on ribbon orders to stay busy. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers we can get. Her name is Debbie <3

What a wonderful story, Lala!  Amazing how life can change in a second if people don't step in.  Thank God for that wonderful young man!

Kim:  Is yours staying in GL for School?l?  If so, they move over there shortly after PIR is over.  Takes several hours and then they call you to pick them up from that base (they will use their phone card for this or borrow a cell from an existing student there since you can't give your sailor the cell until they are ready to return from Liberty).  You then have until 9 or 10 that night.  They have to be back on base at night (can take their personal items then).  They will then have daytime liberty Sat and Sun starting early in the morning (they will know the time) .  They may miss some for "watches" but you still get a good amount of time with them.

CO-TwinSalorsMom explained the procedure if they are flying out to A School.  They are bussed to the airports in the wee hours of the morning to wait for flights that day.

Nice to have you on here, CO-TwinSalorsMom!  Congrats to your sailor!

Lala, where have you BEEN?  Was your internet down again?  Missed you on the PIR groups and glad you are back!  By the way, ladies, Lala makes beautiful ribbons for you to wear at PIR.  Rave reviews!  If you are interested, just click on her photo icon or screen name and visit her page!

We were lucky in January.  I understand that if they are not going to A school in GL you get your sailor from about 10:30 when PIR os over till 7:00pm they usually fly out the next AM You can meet at the airport to hand over laptops, cellphones and small things to fit in their seabags or backpack. Where we lucked out (but don't count on it) Our son did not fly out until Sunday afternoon so we had friday after PIR and all day Saturday and visit at airport till about 1pm. We got to go into Chicago Saturday.
