The sermon this morning was on Leaving a Legacy - not just for dads but also moms.....Speak with integrity, Live with intensity and Give with generosity (not just money, but time, talents, etc.) I sat there thinking of my own dad who could not serve in the military due to being deaf in one ear, but what a legacy he left to his four daughters. Now my husband and I have four sons, and I hope we can leave as great a legacy as my dad did. We have three sons who have found their niches in this world, what God has planned for them, and I am so grateful to the Navy for helping #3 find his niche. I remember the day he came home from the recruiter and called me at work and said "Mom, I think God really wants me to be in the Navy." I am so excited for him as he is finishing this portion of the journey and starting another one at A school. Let's go Battlestations.......and PIR on Friday.....
How many days and a wake up? Go 932, make PIR 6/22 the best training group yet! Loved Yours Mine and Ours, takes on new meaning with a Sailor in the family! Happy Father's Day....and moms, way to stand by the men in our family who are father's. I miss mine, 4 years now.
Happy Fathers Day to all! For those, like me, who have lost their children's father or your own father (mine is here but lost in Alzheimers), I hope that today will be a day of "remembering when" of the happy times and the gifts that they were to you!
Wow Livia, that is AWESOME and definitely the longest call I have ever heard of from boot camp. Congrats for sure :-) Happy for you!!!
Good Morning everyone and Happy Father's Day to all of our Dads, the wonderful dads on this site and in the Military. Go out and have a fun day :-)
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
(This is from one of my favorite Movies)
Div 932 !!! That is great they won Captains Cup! Can't wait until Friday :)
Wallace's mom - I'm thinking with 932's tough RDC, he isn't going to allow them to break concentration with phone calls BEFORE battlestations. Remember after they got that one phone call how they had 2 hours of IT to get them refocused? Only a few more days, and then we can talk to them, then another couple of days and we can hug them tight! ((((Our Boys))))))
