For those planning to take the shuttle to PIR from the hotel, be sure to sign up for shuttle time when you check in.

We just did a dry run to the base gates. Stopped at several gates and talked to the guard. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Can't wait until tomorrow :)

FTLW, you always find a way of making me smile but this morning you have me laughing out loud :-) so funny!!!

Safe travels everyone. Guess what? ONE MORE DAY :-) have a great time and get lots of hugs from your Sailor.

If you are planning to drive to the base: don't line up in the far right lane the morning of PIR. That lane ends, so stay to the left of it and it will save you lots of wait time. You can also choose to stay in the far left lane and make a left turn in front of the gate at the base. Then drive down that street and make a U-turn. The wait time on that road is usually even less. If time allows check your route the day before PIR so you know exactly where you are going and how to get there.

When you get into the PIR Hall take some practice shots with your digital camera. Change your settings until you get the best pictures possible with the lighting and environment you are in. You can even try turning off your flash to see if that would produce the best pictures. Your pictures will come out much better and you will be glad you took the time to do it.

If you go to Gurnee Mills Mall keep track of the amount of time you have. That mall is huge and there are no pass through stores or hall ways to work as short cuts. It is Z shaped so if you start at one end you have to go back to where you started the same way you came. And, you don’t want to get your Sailor back to the base late.

Travel safely ladies!  Enjoy the MeetNGreets tonight.  Remember, Sarge's will have lots of info for you.  Get to bed EARLY tonight and be up EARLY tomorrow...you have a big day!

Remember, the stands at PIR are pretty full by 7:30 (lower stands) so if you want to be able to choose your seat (lower or in balcony), you need to be on your way to RTC between 6 and 6:30.  Recently, someone didn't leave until 7:30...was shocked that it was so full when she arrived.

So...the "early bird gets the worm!"  ENJOY!
