for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Had room to keep his wisdom teeth... whew!
Got a call from my son around 6:00 pm tonight! It was so good to hear his voice. He sounded upbeat. He said it was mentally harder than he thought but doing good! Can't wait to see him in June.
Thundertoes, I'm a dental asst. Usually, I would be taking x-rays. I'm so glad that the patient I was setting up did NOT need x-rays. I ran out of the room so fast, I don't think my boss knew what had happened or the patient (and she just asked how my son was doing too). I took 20 minutes to speak to my SR, then went back to set up the next patient, with the biggest smile on my face!!!!!
Alcmom: Wheew.....glad you didn't get "that" call! Hope things are getting much better for him!
Thundertoes: UGH! I had that happen once...went right to voicemail. Turned out my battery was kinda low. So glad he called back!
Simomma53, I was about to get pretty obnoxious with my cell phone company. I was sitting at my desk, with my cell phone right in front of me when the "voice mail" light started blinking. The phone never rang! When I saw that 847 number in the missed call queue, I flipped out. Then his message, "Mom! Answer your phone!" Oh my gosh! Thank goodness he called again a few minutes later. This would have been a VERY long night.
Yes, finally heard from my SR also about 6pm. Too bad I was at work. But I took the time to speak to him anyway. Sounded great, just a little hoarse. Upbeat call. Thank goodness. I can sleep better tonight.
ALCmom, I am thinking of you.... please keep us updated. I am in Virginia too. PIR 6/26.. Stay positive
