Don't forget to make at least change 3 and join your PIR group.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Sindy it was chaos trying to get into graduation, a lot of people. They might or might not check for her ID.  They were trying to rush people thru the door.  Please go early to get a good seat. I mean be on the road no later than 7 am.

As soon as your sailor knows what airport he is flying out of, see if he has a late flight on Saturday if so call the Hilton and book a room. 79.00 rate that does not include breakfast.  my daughter got dropped off at 6 am and her San Antonio flight was at 9 pm. so we check into Hilton on Friday afternoon.  She got to come to room and rest and sleep and watch movies.

hope that helps?

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes. Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.

You will be able to spend time with your Sailor at the airport the day after PIR before he flies out to "A" School. Yes, there is a graduation ceremony from "A" School. It is very short and not many loved ones attend, but they are welcome to do so. See Break down week by week for more and that and more.

Hi, I see you have joined New MAA Mom's. Master at Arms is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor was an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms.

The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.); it indicates 9 weeks, but "A" School is 7 weeks after classing up. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in May,  to connect with others with loved ones who arrived the same day and may have PIR together.

I also invite you to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your recruit’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

Hi, when did or will your future Sailor ship to the RTC? If you know the ship date, go to the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. At the bottom are links for each of the months, join the one for the month that your future Sailor ships. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
