Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

PIR was phenomenal!!  Only got to spend a few hours my sailor on Friday but it would have been worth it even if it had been minutes, I'll take any time I can get!!  She was at the airport at 3 am, for a flight that left at 9:40 am.  I spent a few hours at the airport and I'm soooo glad that I did.  She was scared about this next endeavor - leaving all her new friends and all.  I know she will make new ones, it's very hard to see them upset tho.  Anyone else have sailors going to MA school in San Antonio?  Trying to join that group but have been unable to find it...

Momluvsu,

Hmmm, interest rate on what?  Are you joint on the account in question?  Otherwise, since he has his phone and all, that might be something he can follow up himself on and he can send them whatever they need directly instead of having you be the go-between~~

If he is with Navy Federal, they should be able to pay off the account in question and give him a great rate with a new account.

My daughter (not my Sailor) was able to re-finance her car loan and cut her payments in half!!  :)

Can anyone help me out. My son called me and wanted me to check into getting his interest rate lowered due to being in the Navy. But I can not find any links on this issue.. thanks in advance
