for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

mcmomma: Try not to worry....Bootcamp is so very up and down for them....just depends on when they write their letter or make the call. They could be very up or more discouraged. That is why we say to keep writing nothing but positive things in your letters....and get others to write too, especially if you feel your SR needs extra encouragement....you are their cheerleading team during Bootcamp! Hoping that the next phone call or the letter shows he is enjoying it more and doing better!
Mine SR is in 219! He sounded good. He told me he loves it there! It was tough the 1st 2 weeks but training week 1 hasn't been that bad. He said he actually likes it. They will write us back today!
Anybody elses SR in Ship 12 Div 219 having a difficult time? My son said they haven't been able to write or anything, but they can write starting today.
Sophia and navywife2015: You 2 may want to friend each other on here, and communicate privately in more detail since it sounds like you are going through the same experience with your hubbys missing their wives/children!
DJswife: Yes, correct on the pay and then they get paid every two weeks. Navy Fed accounts normally receive the deposit a day earlier (sometimes more if falling on a weekend) than other banks. Remember, don't be alarmed if the first couple of deposits are low...uniform expenses, etc are taken out. Since they get a uniform allowance, eventually this will be put back into their account, but not until after Bootcamp.
The GF received the call yesterday. Ship 14 Div 221. She said he was a little down when she first started talking to him but by the time he had to get off the phone he was laughing and said he felt like he could handle whatever they threw at him now. The sad part is she was on her way to my house when she got the call. He also said from now on they will have to earn their phone privileges. So stay strong Ship 14 Div 221!!!
My son (Div 219) called yesterday. We talked for about 10 minutes. It was so wonderful to hear his voice. He is happy and says they are feeding them well. Says that this whole experience has been a life changer. He NOW knows how to make his bed. Hahaha I am so thankful to have this group that understands what we are going through right now. God bless!
Sophia and Div 222- I got a call yesterday too! We talked for about 10 minutes, then he called his girlfriend. I was also surprised by my normally stoic son- he was pretty emotional. (It's normally me who is the one crying, so that joke make him laugh). He said the food was good and he is working which keeps the monotony down. He sounds broken, but I am hoping between me and his GF, we helped to encourage him.
My SR - Ship 14 Div 222. Hoping to get a call soon!
