OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning Everyone!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on May 19, 2014 at 8:11am

MattsMom, I sent you the info for ordering ribbons to wear to PIR. Sorry it took me so long. My internet was down for two days last week because of storms and when it was finally back up I could not get on this site at all. It was so weird. I ended up having to change my password but could remember the password for my old email I used when joining this site. What a mess lol. I hate having so many passwrods lol

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am one of the volunteers who help you get through the boot camp experience. I have two sailors, my daughter has been in for 4 years and is getting ready to go from enlisted to active reserves. And my son-in-law who re-enlisted for another 6 years. They are now based in CA and my daughter is home on leave with my precious grand baby and they will be joining my SIL in CA very soon; TOO SOON lol. I will be flying to CA to visit them in June, my first flight ever so keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if I can help you in any way and feel free to send me a friend request :)

Precious:  PIR is 90 minutes long....9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

If you are looking for the Recruit Training Command page on Facebook, just put that full name in the search box on FB.  It should come up.
