OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My guess is that he will return to BC, pack up, and head to the airport at some point late Sat night. We are traveling from Florida, with toddlers in tow, so getting to see him on Sat REALLY was good news!!

Needzanap:  If he won't be flying out until Sunday, that will be a blessing!  They normally fly out on Saturday and usually don't know for sure about flights until shortly before PIR..  But even if you find he flies out on Saturday rather than Sunday, you can visit with him at the airport on Saturday so you have that to look forward to!  Here's hoping that his Sunday departure proves to be correct so you have an extra day with him!

I agree with CatMom.  Different divisions will do their first mail out/receipt of held mail at different times.  Just depends on the completion of the training of the Recruit Mail Petty Officer.  Hoping that the letters are all flowing freely soon and that there are lots of happy posts on here when SR letters are in your mailboxes!

Good Morning!

Gals,

Even though you may have been sending letters, the Mail Petty Officer for each division still has to be trained, so that may be a reason why the SRs haven't received their mail yet.  But once that PO has been trained, the mail will move like clockwork!!

I did not receive a call from my son today, but did earlier in the week because he needed some info. Does anyone know where they go to A school for IT?

My son, who will be going to Nuke School following PIR, said that he will have liberty on Fri & Sat. That brought a big smile to us all!!

It was wonderful to hear my son's voice. He sounded great. Miss him so much.

Thanks so much for the heads up about the calls!
I received my call from my son at 4pm. He was tired from night watch, but was in good spirits. He was happy to receive his mail. I let him know there was more to come! I'am so happy everyone had calls from their SRs. May God continue to watch over them

I also just got our 1st call!! He said it was going well, not too difficult. He can ignore the yelling. He sleeps with 73 ppl LOL he is 3rd in (recruit) division command, Master at Arms. He said he did it because he was sick of watching guys screwing around. He said they will be able to mail their letters tomorrow. He really appreciated the letters, and asked for more pictures.
