~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

OMG for real, this clock cannot go any faster?  6 days, 3 hours and 21 minutes blah blah ) blah.  I was perched at mailbox like a madwoman, on Wednesday.  My daughter gets 2 letters. I get none.  right.  So madwoman does something crazy, that I regretted.  Next day, a letter comes.  Feeling sheepish.  I DONT CARE, WE ARE GOING TO SEE THEM IN JUST A FEW SHORT DAYS!~  I cannot say how I handled my daughters letters from our son.  its too embarrassing.  Can you guess? lol after 3 weeks of no phone calls?  Are you kidding me?

I just got off the phone with my daughter/Sailor and she is still doing well and on her way to work the night shift. She said to tell everyone thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers. I am so happy she and baby are well :)

Congrats to those who got calls and letters this week :)

Remember for those family members who can't go to PIR they can now watch it on their computer. So, family members who come with you or who stay at home can see it as it happens. :) I am going to try and watch part of it tomorrow morning just so I can see how it is done. I wish they had that when my daughter had PIR. My mom would have loved to be able to watch it.

Thanks, NavyMom.  Wow, it is unusual for 934 to go so early, but I'm sure that is because this is a Wed PIR so they will need to get it done earlier so they can practice.

Pam:  Call the Public Affairs Office tomorrow and tell them this info.  Yes, you should get a letter about this.  Maybe tomorrow?  But I would call just in case:

847 688 2405  And congrats to your sailor!  That is wonderful!  A Sailor AND an honor recruit!

So happy to have received my "I am a Sailor" call today!  I am now able to breathe and properly plan for our trip next week.  Best of luck to all the SRs waiting to start Battlestations!

Dianne, I also heard that 934 passed.

My son keeps telling me that he is the honor recruit for his division (he just verified that on the phone today). I see on the website that there is a special ceremony prior to PIR for honor recruits and award winners and that I should have received a letter telling us about the ceremony, but I have not. Does anyone know how to get information?

Congrats to the new sailors of 247/248!  Did any other divisions call today?  Yep, more calls should come in tomorrow....then the rest next week.  There are no BattleStations on Fri or Sat nights....

Captains Cup will be Sat. morning for all of the divisions in this group.  Fun athletic competition for all of them!
