Hi! The new adoption was announced today in the Discussion Forum on Molly's Adopt A Sailor. We hope you will help us send some love from home to these sailors. Pat
You are now a member of "MAS We Ship Love". We do it this way to provide a little security for the "Contact Person" for our monthly adoptions of "Molly's Adopt A Sailor." If you have questions or need help, please do not hesitate to send me a message.
You can find the information on our Sept. adoption on the "Molly's" group page in the Discussion Forum"

This football season is very different from the last for me as well. My son, the football player, just started his first year of college in MN - playing football, we are in Cali. So after 4 years of never missing a game, both away and home, I can only watch him streamed online. I am so thankful for that. My daughter is headed to A school in Pensacola following boot camp. She's finished 2 years of college and is excited about the path this has put her on.
Since your SR has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
What is your future Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

My name is Becky, and my sons name is Derrick. We are from Akron, OH. He did choose his job. Logistics Specialist. He wanted nuclear, but got this. Maybe he can change his MOS once he has acquired some time. What is your sons job? What is his name? I plan to send chocolate chip cookies once he hits A school. Cant wait for him to have his cell phone and laptop. Today was a little easier, hope it was for you too. We kinda ran out of tears. Have to smile and find reasons for this to be a good thing. I need to call the recruiter to ask about time after boot camp. First he was told a week, then it went to 3 days. I need to know so we know what to pay for graduation, costs for travel as well as cost to A school. ttyl becky
