Hello all, My name is Patti and I have one son that just graduated on May 11th and another graduating on June 6th, he is ship13 Div 212, looking for anyone else with a loved one in this division! Add me or respond here, hope to hear from you soon! As a veteran boot camp Mom, haha, I can probably answer some questions and maybe give some tips too!

Hello, my name is Cindy & my son also is in this division. My son also graduates  on June 6th. We just booked our flight hotel & rental car so we are ready to go. I know nothing about bootcamp but am learning quickly through other moms & the internet. I miss my son sooo much. Trying to decide to take a shuttle to graduation or drive the rental car. I have searched the internet to find positives and negitives both ways. What would you suggest as a veteran boot camp mom? Hope to hear back.

Trust me take the shuttle! Lol alot less stressful and no
checking thru security gates!
Ours at the Ramada was great, drivers were friendly &
helpful. Last thing you want Is the stress of checkpoints and
parking! Most sailors will not leave with you, but you will
pick them up after debriefing & packing. Great to hear from
you!! I'll help anyway I can!!
Also, print out a couple parking passes, just
In case! Don't want to be stuck if you oversleep
Or run late lol also this was helpful getting on base
later to take him back after liberty!

My son is ship 13 div 212 but graduating July 6th not June.  I have not booked my flights or hotels yet but planning on doing so this weekend.  Any recommendations?

Hello ladies,

My son graduates July 6th. Is Ship 12 & Div 212. He is my second son to go thru bootcamp. His identical twin graduated Dec 2010

How are you all holding up so far? I have been lucky enough to recieve two phone calls. My recruit is an " IT " and calls to get infomation for his security clearance.

I am so ready for graduation, except already know he is a  " grad n go "

Hello Twins mom!! This is also my second! Not twins tho, not really brother either lol My son graduated May 11th, his best friend, who calls me Mom, in 7/6. Might not have gave birth to him, but he's still my son! Feels like the same as when my own was gone anyway! lol Got letters today! He said send more letters, they're like crack in this place!! haha

Hi there..

I was hoping to see a message from you. Almost thinking our sons know one another but mine is one  Ship 12.

I rec'd one envelope today with 4 different letters. 2 for myself, 1 for my daughter and 1 for my adopted son who is my SR best friend. So nice to finally hear from him. Sounds like overall things are going good.

My SR seems a bit frustrated with some people but I know that is normal.

Where is your first son currently for " A " school?  My first sailor started as an FC and switched rates after " A " school so he is now in Pensacola, FL which is where his twin will go.

I did not get a letter again today!  This is so hard!  I guess you have to go with no news is good news.  I was waiting to make travel plans until I heard just so I knew if I should stay until Sunday or I could leave Saturday but I guess I better make them now anyway.  Any hotels better than others?

Hey just a heads up my son was on ship 13 div 212 pir 7/06/2012 but just got a handwritten letter on June 1st ( my first letter) and it has a ship change & address change. He now is on ship 12 div 212 PIR 07/06/2012. He wrote that he has not recieved any mail from us yet. recruiter said they will forward the mail & he should get it soon. Plan to burn up the post office with letters to new address. Maybe this has happened to your SR. My son also said that they have been very busy & this was the first time (May 27th) that he had a chance to write. Hang in there your SR letter will be coming soon. Hope this helps!

I got my letter today and my son's ship changed from 13 to 12 also.  He had not received any of the letters I've written so far but I'm hoping by now he has.  It was so good to hear from him.

From past experience as a boot camp Mom ( Dec 2010 ) SR can  only mail on Sunday's, So depending on where you live will depend on your arrival date. We live in Michigan usually receive mail from Chicago on Tues or Weds.  Don't give up hope and just keep on writing. They do receive mail whenever it comes in.

As far as travel plans. Do you know where your SR's  "A" school will be? For example mine will be in Pensacola,FL and we have already found out he is a Grad N Go. This means he reports to FL , July 7, so we will be lucky to have 6 or so hours with our SR. Therefore we are only staying in Chicago til Saturday around hotel check out time. However with our first son we stayed the whole weekend until the last possible time we had to turn him back over to the base. Haha..
