We didn't get a letter last week.  I'd love to hear any news you all could share!  we're on a trip and won't be home for a while.  Thinking of  them all as they face the confidence chamber and the looming Battle Stations.  They've been well trained and will be fine!

Mightymouse,

You can check out www.pirgifts.com which will bring you to Craig's eBay page.  He is a N4M veteran parent and designed the coins especially connected to RTC.  There is a video on any of the coins you see there on the history of them.  They are collectibles for the Sailors and they may be given in recognition by higher officers, but not alot these days.  Now it is mostly loved ones who give the Challenge Coins to their Sailors~~  I have given my Sailor daughter ones for her Ship at RTC, the really sharp Core Values one, her rating (IT) when she finished A school (engraved with her name), and another one when she got Petty Officer 3rd Class.

I'm reading about the ship challenge coins. Do many people get these? What would they do with them?

CassieRose,

This PIR group is in their intense training time where the only contact from your SRs will be their weekly letters.  When they get closer to PIR, calls may be rewarded depending on their RDCs~~

Has anyone heard from their SR in 238 lately? Thought maybe they would be able to call last weekend but didn't hear from him. Hopefully they will be able to call once more before PIR. :)

ladybug3: I got a call from my girlfriend in 236 (the brother Div to 235) on Saturday.  She mentioned that they went to the NEX and the girls could buy makeup for PIR.  She took the opportunity to call instead of "shop"  Haha!  Maybe your daughter was busy shopping.  I know it's hard, but you know what they say...No news is good news.  Pfffttt....whatever :)

My son (Div235) called his Dad on Saturday this past weekend . Said its "hell week " and they are preparing for Battlestations . He said it might be his last time he gets to call.
